aaaalright, enough of sad news from Sri Lanka; time for some entertainment I’d say.
Today was quite a special day. In the morning I met Bob Mali and in the afternoon I was hanging out with George and the boys in the Malgampura housing project. Take a look at these old guys, basically all of them run around bare-breast but that’s the style… they just know how to chill down South.
As I was walking down the roads (lets just say roads instead of dirt tracks) I saw the follow up graffiti from the first one in the housing project near Hambantota. Those boys are in the same crew I guess, same style, hm? Simple but straight-forward, they know how to party here in Sri Lanka.
Oh, and I just got a new haircut. Now I look like Jim Carrey in his early movies, what to do? Lesson: Neither let your caretaker nor your teachers cut your hair with a scissor from pre-school. Just a reminder.
I did not put any photos from this session online. Even though this blog gives you quite a good impression about life here, there is some privacy left...
Last but not least the lady with the Bethel-leaves. I am not into the nut, but chewing some leaves once in a while isn’t too bad…..though the teeth somehow turn green afterwards.
so, enough for the day. Big news in Thailand these days, unfortunately there is hardly any
coverage here in Sri Lanka… instead I can read of the “Mega-Development-Plan” for the Trincomalee area, government wants to build a little Singapore in this area to check out the oil from the Jaffna Peninsula. Unfortunately this area is still under the control of the LTTE.
Oh, but wait. The president is right now in the United States, checking out some peace-talks with the Norwegians while on the east coast muslims are getting bashed by the police…
So welcome to Sri Lanka.
